Judo Victoria will bring sensei from the Kodokan to Melbourne for the first time in 18 years, offering Victorian judoka the opportunity to secure a Kodokan Dan Grade on home soil. 
Kodokan instructors Nambo Tokuso (Kodokan 7th dan), Otsuji Hirofumi, (Kodokan 7th dan) and Aoi Daigou (Kodokan 6th dan) will lead a two-day technical seminar over the weekend of January 24 and 25, before proceeding to a Kodokan dan grading which will take place on January 26, 2026.
A special Junior Nage Waza class will take place on Saturday January 24, for young judoka aged 11 to 14 years who hold as a minimum a Judo Australia Junior Orange belt.
